Hi, I’m Jade. I’m a creative producer, artist, designer, and musician — and the founder of JLW Studio, a practice dedicated to powerful, purpose-driven storytelling.

Over the past decade, I’ve collaborated with NGOs, production houses, and cultural organisations to create stories that matter — working across film, design, illustration, animation, and music to help build a better world.

My creative work often explores themes of future solutions, fairness, indigenous wisdom, climate resilience, the refugee experience, human rights, and mythology — but at its heart, everything I do is about finding beauty and truth in service of positive change.

As a director and producer, I write, develop, sell and produce independant short films. I often also assist larger teams and have experience both as an independent filmmaker, as well as a story producer and unit director for broadcast television and theatrical feature filmmaking teams. I have travelled the globe making films, collaborating with local storytellers to make beautiful art together and share these powerful messages.

I’ve worked for Netflix, BBC, Amazon, Sky, Smithsonian, HHMI Tangled Bank and Youtube as well as independent production houses - Tailfeather, Shadow, Storyhunter, Arrow Media, RAWTV, Cinefromage, Talesmith, Waterbear Network, Blue Gray, Passion Planet and Make Waves.

As a designer, I create treatments, storyboards, graphics, props, film posters, concept artwork, and other digital media for film and music. I also illustrate childrens books, graphic novels, and other educational content.

I work across animation too. Below is a short clip from of a 5 minute story featured in the documentary short, Mother of the Forest: Curupira, I directed for the Living Stories series, currently housed on the WaterBear Network.

A little more about me.

In 2021, I relocated to Senegal to project manage a community restoration effort in collaboration with local NGO, Maison de la Gare (featured in ‘The Letter’), after devastating floods hit the town of Saint-Louis rendering many young people and their families homeless and vulnerable.

In 2024 I was given the wonderful opportunity to release my first single as a musician. My cover of the American Folk song ‘Wayfaring Stranger’ is available on all streaming platforms and is currently a licensed sountrack for the Podcast ‘Sayonaraville’. On January 24th, 2025. My first original track Mangroves was released into the wild.

I now work remotely and with a growing international client base, am always open to new opportunities to connect and collaborate wherever in the world you are! Follow my journey using the social links below and of course - say hi!
